Kickboxing Circuits

By Christina | May 8, 2009

I have been teaching kickboxing for a few years now and I can honestly say, besides AthleKinetix, this is the hardest class I teach.  To change things up I have started adding weight lifting segments during the Cardio Kickbox. We start with the standard warm up, add a few punching combinations - jab, cross, hook, upper cut.

After some intense upper body I add a five minute round of weights. Overhead presses, biceps curls, triceps kickbacks. Back to kickboxing and maybe some kicks.  Front kick, side kick, round house, back kick, throw in some squat kicks and the heart rate is thumping!

Back to weights - lunge, squat, plie squat, back lunges and it’s back to kickboxing.  Finally, we are back to to kickboxing and it’s a combination of upper and lower body - jab, cross, hook, upper cut, pivot, knee up and side kick. Repeat.
