Sand Bags - My New Favorite Exercise Toy

I was doing some research this morning for my workouts and was reading about the sandbags. Certainly, not a new apparatus but what a functional one. It incorporates the best of many fitness accessories. It is soft so you can place it on your shoulders, it is pliable so you can throw it, its contents move about so it adds instability to your workout and can be used in a swinging motion.
That’s like a dumbbell, kettlebell, medicine ball all in one. Some of the exercises I really like are:
- Rotating Bag Lift Grab bag between legs, stand and rotate back so its perpendicular overhead to start
- Single Leg Dead Lift Hold bag at waist and let one leg go back as you go forward
- Suitcase Dead Lift Grab bag with one hand and lift like a suit case
- Backwards Sandbag Squat Place sandbag on shoulders and squat to 90 degrees in the knees
- Backwards Sandbag Drag Bag on floor, grab and slowly walk backwards - stay low to the floor, drag bag
- Sand Bag Bear Hug Squat Hug your bag and squat
- Sand Bag Bear Hug Squat Walk Hug your back, squat and walk low
- Diagonal Power Shoulder Bag on floor by right foot, lift across the body to over left shoulder, return to start, repeat
- Sand Bag Get Ups Lay flat, bag on chest, stand up without putting bag down, however you can
