Teenagers should not take the following supplements
By Christina | March 5, 2009
Teenagers, like adults want to be in great shape and often will do whatever it takes to get there, even if it can potentially harm them unfortunately. Teenagers should focus on proper nutrition, exercising safely and consistently and getting enough rest. These are really where young adults need to put their energy.
In fact, if diet, training, and rest are not adequate, supplements will do no good. There are some that are deemed acceptable like multi vitamins and creatine but honestly, if you are young and still growing, why mess with possible side effects?
Below are some of the supplements that you should not take under any circumstances if you are under 18. Often what has no side effects on an adult can adversly affect someone younger. Hormone production controls all the vital functions of the body and during the growing years this is more true than ever.
Stay away from:
- DHEA
- Growth hormone
- Andros
- ECAs
- Tribulus
- Any “all in 1″ supplements.
