Should I try circuit training?

By Christina | February 10, 2009

Like the pyramid training concepts, circuit training is another efficient and effective way to change up your workouts as well as develop strength, endurance (both aerobic and anaerobic), flexibility and coordination.

Circuit training appeals to the average workout participant through elite athletes. A properly designed circuit can assist in correcting the imbalances that may occur in any sport played to a high level or simply when you do the same workouts over and over. It can also be one of the best types of training to help improve strength endurance which is what you would need for a sport like soccer or an endurance event like the triathlon.
The circuit is a time saver because it often involves cardio, strength, and other elements depending on who puts the circuit together. It can definitely be a refreshing and fun change from the more monotonous types of exercise.

Circuit training in itself is not a form of exercise, but the way an exercise session is structured. You can create strength routines, endurance routines, cardiovascular routines or combinations thereof – the sky is limit!

Consult your doctor before start any workout program.
