Chafing is NO Fun

By Christina | February 3, 2009

I had a slight problem this week, perhaps a discomfort is a better word.  I teach Spinning four times a week and typically don’t wear any under garments under the tight fitting, lycras.  This weekend however I had two classes to teach, one a weights class and the second a Spin.

Not wanting to be changing in between classes I figures I would just wear the thong style underwear that I normally do to my “non-Spin” classes.  Now, I tried this morning to find other blogs on this topic and found none but I found plenty of panties for sale that tout chafing free during Spinning as a benefit which means there are other people out there who have experienced this.

Halfway through class I realized I was NOT comfortable and was potentially going to have a bad end result (pardon the pun.)  I tried as discreetly as possible, and then without any regard for discretion, to remove the unwanted textile from the aforementioned area with no luck so I rode through the hour as best I could.  The next day, all I can say is, OUCH.  I recommend if you spin either go, in the words of Seinfeld’s Kramer, “I’m out there Jerry and I’m loving it!” or wear a special made thong style garment.
