Working Out with Friends Makes all the Difference!

Is it just me or doesn’t everyone pull out their camera phones after a workout to take pictures?  Ah, it’s all in good fun, the gym is a place to get into shape and be healthy but it is also a place to be happy and have fun.  I often say in my classes, I want you to work hard and burn calories and rev up your heart rate but more than that, I want you to enjoy yourself.  Why?  Because if you are having a good time, you will come back.

What good does it do to provide one “great, kick butt, make you sore” workout if you are not going to come back because the hour was endless and you could not wait to get off the bike?  In my opinion, that’s useless.  I would rather you got a so-so workout, had a blast and decided to make exercise a part of your everyday because it made you happy.

I don’t get too bogged down by the exercises, the intensity or the duration because all that will happen on it’s own, I want to create a habit in my participants so you will usually see me dancing, joking and jumping.  Don’t get me wrong, I do watch form and push but not to the point of frustration of total body failure.
