Need motivation to get fit? Read on…

By Christina | November 19, 2008

I was doing research to see how to assist people with their lack of motivation when it comes to getting in shape and just exercising in general and I was surprised at some of the things I found.  Reading blogs with people’s ups and downs, trials and tribulations was one of the motivational tips.  Hey, that’s great.. read my blogs!

In addition, there was read fitness magazines, look at fitness models, visualize a fitter you, reward yourself at  the same goal achievements, enjoy the adrenaline rush, find a workout partner, hire a coach or trainer, keep a fitness log and take exercise classes.

I find that working out with a friend is a big plus as are group exercise classes.  When I run with someone I get the time to talk uninterrupted which almost never happens in the gym or anywhere else for that matter.  Think about it, on a jog, run or stroll, you probably don’t have your cell phone with you and unless you are running with someone you aren’t like to find anyone along the way who wants to chat.

As for classes, they are the best way to get through an hour of exercise without really feeling like an hour has passed.  Whether it’s Spinning, weights, Step or kickboxing, the hour flies by and I had fun!
