World Record Day

By Christina | October 28, 2008

During a recent Cable Organizer run I heard of this workout called the World Record Workout.  Okay, so it isn’t officially titled that, but it’s what the duo who does the workout call it and I think it’s a great name that should be a part of everyone’s workout.

World Record day is done once a week and typically after a rest day.  They start with a light warm up and then pull out their data sheets from the previous historic event.  Every exercise is then done to their maximum ability to try and beat their last weight amount, sets performed or whatever they used as the measurement in the past.

A sample World Record Day:

Event - Previous Measurement - New Measurement - Result

Run 1 mile - 12.34 Minutes - 12.25 Minutes - Pass

Push Ups - 28 - 30 - Pass

Sit Ups - 168 - 200 -Pass

Biceps Curl - 40 lbs x 12 Reps - 40 lbs X 10 Reps - Fail

This is just a sample of how you can measure and set up your own World Record Day.  Give it a shot but be safe.  Do not try to push past what your body can handle just to beat your previous numbers as that will only result in a possible injury.
