Weekly Meditation - What Would You Do?
By Christina | August 10, 2008
Every once in a while I look around for quotes that make me stop and think and if you know me, it takes a lot to make me stop. Practicing yoga has taught me that there is infinite value to stopping periodically and being still. Allowing the mind to be quiet without working, blogging, planning, even playing is so important to getting in touch with who you are and more importantly, where you should be headed.
Today as I looked for a motivational quote I found this:
“If death meant just leaving the stage long enough to change costume and come back as a new character…Would you slow down? Or speed up?” by Chuck Palahniuk
Wow, so many ways to interpret this. Would I speed up because of the promise and anticipation of what’s next or would I slow down and really savor this moment because of what may be next? At this point in my life, I would surely slow down to a snail’s pace and take in all that I could from my life today. My children bring me unlimited joy, my friends and relationships allow me to laugh and think and grow, my work gives me the ability to leave a mark on this world that will hopefully inspire and affect many after me.
Of course, tomorrow I might be in a really crabby mood and change my mind!
