Aqua Cycle - Good idea or just another fad?

By Christina | July 23, 2008

I love new products so when I heard about the Aqua Bike I wanted to know more.  This is not a new gadget or fitness tool but it is one I have never seen or used.  The aquatic bike is easy to install, and is endowed with different levels of resistence.  It unites both the advantages of the traditional bike and those of moving and exercising in a pool.

It is built with material appropriate for to be put in water for a long time, and it can be used either in the pool, in the sea, or in hot thermal water. You can pedal forwards or backwards which is essential for successful rehabilitation therapy. Using this bike does not require the ability to swim and is no impact so it does not strain the body at all.

The bike is reported to quickly bring about change to your muscles, creating growth and length. Additionally, the cardio exercise will create a thinner and more streamlined you. I have never tried the activity so I cannot vouch for it but I do believe the best exercise is the one you will do over and over.  If you love cycling and love the water, this could be just what you need.

As always, do not try any new activity without the consent of your physician.
