I have heard of Laughing Yoga, is it the same as Happy Yoga?

By Christina | April 9, 2008

The two are completely different, well they are both yoga but one, I have written about before, is about laughing for no reason except that laughing often makes you laugh and so releases endorphins and make you happy.  Happy Yoga however is actually a book and a course written by Steve Ross who believes that yoga should be joyous, a celebration everytime including dance, music and humor.

Steve says many yoga classes are about where to place each finger and toe and about the perfection of the physical pose and that’s fine but it is not where the joy and bliss that yoga should bring to your life is going to come from. Yoga without the philosophy is just a stretch/ gymnastics class.  To be a part of Happy Yoga be prepared to be immersed in yogic tradition, philosophy and meaning. There is breath work, meditation, and… happiness.  Steve says leave your cell phones, addictions and dramas behind!
