Spinning is not all about the cardio

Spinning is actually a mind/ body experience that will enhance your physical performance. This means that while you ride you will use your mental ability to become more aware of your physical body. There is an enhanced awareness of the working body parts as you allow all the distractions around you to fade away and your sole focus becomes your legs, your heart, your lungs, your mind.
When creating a mind body class the focus should be on each individual, not the music, or images of trees and paths through mountains. Mind body training is about creating an enhanced mental self image. Here is an exercise for you to try:
Close your eyes or find a spot in the room - no looking around. Think about your toes, your feet, legs, torso, back, shoulders, neck, head, face, and then breath. Feel each part of you then experience what’s happening in you. Make this a personal moment, all about you, only you. Is there tension anywhere in you? Release it. See yourself performing, getting stronger, faster, better. Your mind will stray at first but don’t quit, keep trying, it will happen and when it does, you will understand what runner’s experience in what they call a “runner’s high”. It is a euphoria you find when all else slips away and you are the only thing and that moment that exists.
