Which is a better kickbox workout, with bags and gloves or just cardio kickbox?

Kickboxing with the heavy bag is considered one of the most thorough workouts there are. In incorporates flexibility, strength and cardio. Not only is this workout good for all types of fitness requirements but also wellness needs are met such as physical, emotional and spiritual making it well rounded in all areas.
Why does the equipment make such a difference? The bag provides resistance, which makes kickboxing an effective activity for muscle toning. Because you are constantly moving around the bag, your heart rate stays elevated, which burns fat and calories. And because the kicks and punches involve bending, twisting, and weight shifting, your “core” or stabilizing muscles in the torso, back and chest are conditioned.
Kickboxing has always had a reputation for causing injuries and while it is true you can become injured in kickboxing, it is not due to the exercise but to the exerciser not maintaining proper form. As with any type of exercise, injuries are possible. Common sense goes a long way. Start slow, wear proper equipment such as gloves, hand wraps and shoes and know what you are doing.
Kickboxing is a fun, high intensity workout I recommend everyone should try. Find a studio or gym in your area that offers it and go in, they won’t hurt you.
