By Christina | October 13, 2007
As you know, cardio aqua classes are a wonderful way to get a good workout without any stress to the joints of the legs or spine. They are for all age levels although they seem to have gotten the reputation for being an elderly class. The truth is these classes are beneficial for all levels of athletes. The water provides a completely different environment which challengesthe different muscle groups. It is also an ideal way for rehab patiets to regain strength and mobility.
Here are some combos I will use today in my Cardio Aqua Class, give them a try and tell me what you and your class think:
Set 1
- Jog forward 16 counts
- Kick forward 16 counts
- Hamstring jog 16 counts
- Wide jog 16 counts
- Rocking horse right 32 counts, repeat left
- Twist 16 counts
Set 2
- Cross Country Ski 16 count
- Jumping Jacks 32 count
- Inner thigh job 16 count
- High knee jog 16 count
- Jack/ Ski
Set 3
- Kick front 16 counts
- Hamstring curls 16 counts
- Bunny hops 16 counts
Once you have mastered them all, combine the set.
Most importantly, smile and have fun!
