By Christina | September 15, 2007
As I was sitting here listening to the sounds of screams coming from my daughter and three of her friends she invited over for a slumber party, I thought to myself, are you nuts? Then I thought, perfect opportunity to write and so here I am. It probably isn’t the time to contemplate the many mysteries of life but more the what light hearted and fun facts can I dig up on fitness to share?
As I surfed my gray matter and the net here is some of what I found. Let me know if you have some of your own to share…
- Every muscle fiber is thinner than a strand of hair and can support 1000 times its own weight
- From birth to old age the average person will walk 70,000 miles
- It takes only 23 seconds for blood to circulate through your entire body
- Your lungs are light enough to float on water
- People with more education tend to be more physically active
- Placed end to end, the blood vessels in your body would circle the equator three times
- If you are 25 pounds overweight, you have about 5000 extra miles of blood vessels for your heart to get blood through
Neat huh? We are truly amazing!
