Aqua Yoga Choreography
By Christina | August 23, 2007
I am ready! My first aqua yoga class is coming up this Saturday at Midtown Athletic. It’s funny when you are looking for new ideas, they are all over the place. I am shocked no one in Weston is doing this yet, but happy none the less to be the one who brings it to our area. Just the thought of being in a climate controlled pool where the water surrounds and supports you with the beautiful Florida sun shining down on you is heaven on earth. The club has palm trees around the pool and a lake off in the distance with a sandy beach along the shore of the lake. Across the lake are million dollar homes adding to the already spectacular view.
Warm Up:Â
- Mountain pose and breathe
- Leg Circles
- Arch and round the spine, hands on ledge
- Warrior I
- Warrior II
- Reverse Warrior
- Warrior III
- Tree
- Split leg stretch - one on wall
- Rear facing high lunge
- Spinal twist
- Triangle
- Reverse triangle
- Balance
- Â Â Â Knee up
- Â Â Â Leg extended
- Â Â Â Hand to foot
- Â Â Â Extend leg
- Â Â Â Open leg
- Boat
- Side plank
- Cobra
- Savasana
Each pose will be held for 5 breaths and repeated on each side. Final relaxation should be at least 5 minutes of floating in the water with a float under the head and feet on the ledge or free floating if there aren’t too many people in the pool.
Have fun and please let me know if you try this choreography and maybe share your own!
