Last Month Checklist, October
Nov 1 Check your calendar for any birthdays, anniversaries or special events for the rest of the year. Buy cards for the events on the list you made. Address and stamp them so that they’re ready to send.
Nov 2 Begin to place your online orders for holiday gifts to ensure that you will have everything in time.
Nov 3 Go through your medicine cabinet and toss anything that’s expired or that you didn’t purchase in the last 12 months.
Nov 4 Daylight savings time ends at 2:00AM today. Be sure to turn all the clocks BACK one hour, and enjoy that extra hour of sleep!
Nov 5 Make a list of your freezer contents and use this to plan upcoming meals. Plan to use most of it up by the end of the year.
Nov 6 Plan your Thanksgiving Day holiday menu if you will be hosting dinner. Also, don't forget that today is Election Day in the US. Exercise your right to vote in your town elections.
Nov 7 Write and mail a handwritten letter to a friend or relative.
Nov 8 Go to the post office and purchase the stamps for your holiday cards.
Nov 9 If you live in a snow-prone area, be sure you have your snow tires on and anti-freeze filled up.
Nov 10 Purchase your 2008 calendar and planner refills.
Nov 11 Today is Veteran's Day. Keep those who have served and currently serve in your thoughts.
Nov 12 If you’ll be a guest at someone’s house for Thanksgiving, call to see if there’s anything they’d like to have you bring.
Nov 13 Replace your toothbrush.
Nov 14 Get your Thanksgiving grocery shopping done before the big crowds are there.
Nov 15 Back up your computer files to recordable discs, flash drives or extra hard drives.
Nov 16 The next time you change the sheets on your bed, enlist the help of someone to help you flip the mattress.
Nov 17 Make a list (or revise last year’s) of the people you plan to send holiday cards to.
Nov 18 Plan a step-by-step checklist for your Thanksgiving Day cooking.
Nov 19 Send to those closest to you an 'I’m thankful for you' email.
Nov 20 Give your kitchen a super-duper cleaning so that you have a nice place to do your holiday cooking.
Nov 21 Take some time for yourself. Read a book, take a bath or do something else relaxing to help offset the stress of the coming days.
Nov 22 Enjoy a day of Thanksgiving with your friends and family.
Nov 23 Instead of braving the chaos of the sales, have a peaceful day at home watching football or playing a game with your loved ones.
Nov 24 Package and freeze any uneaten leftovers.
Nov 25 Have a pizza party (no turkey allowed!) and watch your favorite movie.
Nov 26 Sit down with your new 2008 calendar and jot down all of the birthdays and anniversaries.
Nov 27 Check your closet to be sure you have one perfect outfit pressed and ready to wear to a holiday party.
Nov 28 Check your spice rack and toss and old, stale spices. This is a great time of year to refresh your stock while they are on sale.
Nov 29 Go through and delete and old, no longer needed emails.
Nov 30 Treat yourself to a new CD of music of the holiday season.
