Everyday’s a Chance For Change…
By Jeff Zbar | November 3, 2008
Americans go to the polls this week to elect city commissioners, judges, representatives and a new president. It seems the greatest chance for change we’ve experienced in some time.
But the chance for change comes daily.
How can you improve organization and life-flow around your home?
How can you make your home office, home-based business or professional life more organized, efficient and productive?
How can you cut the clutter that brings chaos to your space and help restore order to your life?
The solutions are simple, though — depending on your example — the malady might seem insurmountable.
Lay out your battle plan. Organization comes in stages. You cannot file papers from your desk or inbox if you don’t have folders or a cabinet to store files. Envision your enemy or your problem area. Lay out a plan of attack. Buy what you need. Be prepared.
Target a task. Is your desk a mess? Dedicated one hour to a focused attack upon it, or your kitchen counter, or your filing/inbox, or your closet. No phone, no interruptions, no doorbells. Focus.
Move on. Once completed, take on your next task from the battle plan.
Be ruthless. If you think you need a document, think again. If a paper can be found online, ditch or shred it. If you can subscribe to electronic billing, do it. Curb the paperflow that clutters your mind.
Seek organization. Strive for clarity. Achieve zen in your cleared and uncluttered space.
Repeat. Organization is not an act, but a habit.
And don’t forget to vote.
