The Art of Feng Shui
By Christina | August 23, 2007
Today’s Feng Shui schools teach that it is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. Feng Shui has become a common household word - almost. There is even a Feng Shui for Dummies book, I know because I saw it at Barnes and Noble this weekend.
A funny story related to Feng Shui… A friend of mine who is also a gifted yoga instructor moved into a home before she was really into the art of energy and space and the need for the home to be “just so”. She realized her bedroom, shared with her husband, was not energetically in the right placement in the home for their energy. He didn’t really think much of it, actually when she said she wanted to switch their bedroom from the master to a smaller bedroom in the home he said “no”. After many “discussions” and emotional talks along with some fights he decided he wanted to keep her happy and agreed. If you walk into her house today, she has converted the master bedroom into a yoga studio where she holds classes and their room is a small 11 x 11 next to the children’s rooms. That is either a true testament to the power of energy or a really cool way to get studio in your home!
Check back here often for Feng Shui of the bedroom, your children’s lives, your jewelry, your office, heck you can apply these principles to all areas of your life and I plan to bring you tips regularly. I hope to hear your feedback and thoughts.
